Position Overview:

As a Contracts Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the company's pre-construction team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tenders, and supporting financial decision-making for residential and high-rise building projects. Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for residential and high-rise construction projects.
• Tender Management: Analyse tender documentation, interpret client requirements, and produce competitive bids.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Relations: Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing, ensuring value for money without compromising quality.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential financial and operational risks in project estimates.
• Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams, including project managers and architects, to ensure estimates align with design specifications and delivery schedules.
• Value Engineering: Propose cost-saving strategies and alternative solutions where appropriate.
• Reporting: Provide senior management with regular updates on cost forecasts and tender outcomes.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Proven experience as a Contracts Estimator within the residential or high-rise construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry, including regulations, materials, and supply chains.
• Proficiency in estimating tools/software and advanced Excel capabilities.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.

Note:

Candidates must already be authorised to work in both the UK and Ireland, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
